In case you haven't noticed, Living Bittersweetly has gone through quite a big change in design. The original layout was fun but a little confusing. While redoing my blog, I followed a few rules in order to keep the design simple and cohesive. I hope you like the redesign of Living Bittersweetly and these tips help you make your blog look as great as possible.
1. Banner
The new banner is easier to read and keeps the font cohesive with the rest of the blog. When creating a banner, keep in mind that it needs to be simple and readable while still depicting the feel of the blog. 
2. Introduction
My old introduction was barely an introduction. The introduction is a quick way for your readers to learn about you and your blog and decide if they want to keep reading. I emphasized my name, using a different font, as well because it is my personal blog and that way it would stand out among the other text.
This adorable font is available through dafont.com. Quixotte is a simple but fun font with an elegant feel.
Sign handwriting is a free download on dafont.com or on fontscafe.com (after liking their facebook page). I'm really loving the handwritten font trend and this one is no exception. The double lines and curlicue details make this one I'll probably be using a lot.

Have you ever explored Kickstarter? It's an awesome website where people who are starting a project of some sort can reach out to people for funding often in return for some sort of reward.
I recently found an awesome typography project entitled "War is Helvetica." It will be a short film by Dan Schreiner about a battle between the Arial Squad and the Helveterans. Due to my typography obsession, I needed to fund this project. (Fingers crossed it does get funded.) Whether or not you decide to back this project (but why wouldn't you?) the video and photos of Dan's designs for this project are awesome and I suggest you check it out.

DeviantART user clockblock's piece entitled En Masse is a beautiful piece created with letters. I love how accurate the shading on the hands is. This piece was incredibly well done,; it's too bad there are no other pieces like this on the user's profile.
